Please read the following policies before beginning your project.
1. Working Together
Great design is a collaborative process. Clear communication from both of us helps create the strongest final result.
2. Project Timelines
Projects are scheduled after payment is received.
- Custom logo concepts are typically ready approximately 2 weeks after I receive your completed questionnaire.
- Pre-made logo customization is typically completed within 1–3 business days.
- Other design projects are scheduled individually.
- Edit requests are generally completed within 1–9 business days, depending on workload.
Design timelines are estimates and may occasionally be extended due to illness, family emergencies, severe weather, or the natural creative process.
3. Project Expiration
Please begin your project within 30 days of purchase.
If communication or required materials are not received for 45 consecutive days, the project will be considered abandoned and closed.
If an unexpected circumstance arises, simply reach out before the 45-day deadline so we can make other arrangements.
Projects cannot be transferred to different design services once work has begun.
4. Design Direction
Your questionnaire serves as the creative brief for your project.
If you decide to pursue an entirely different concept after initial designs are presented (for example, requesting a completely different illustration or logo concept), additional fees may apply.
5. Communication
- One person must serve as the project contact throughout the design process.
- Phone calls are available by appointment.
- Design review and edits are handled through email.
- Please respond to design proofs within 3 business days whenever possible to avoid scheduling delays.
6. Revisions
Please submit revisions as one numbered list for each review.
Each project includes three rounds of revisions unless otherwise noted.
Revision rounds refine an existing design and do not include creating entirely new concepts or illustrations. Additional revisions are billed separately.
7. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing final text and images for collateral projects.
- Proofreading all content before approval.
- Reviewing every proof and final file carefully.
Any changes requested after final files have been delivered will incur additional fees.
Clients are also responsible for securing any required image or font licenses unless otherwise agreed.
8. Final Files
A project is considered complete once final files have been approved and delivered.
Additional logo versions requested after project completion are separate purchases.
If files need to be resent in the future, a retrieval fee may apply.
9. Ownership
Upon final payment and delivery, ownership of the approved custom logo transfers to the client.
Concepts, alternate versions, and unused designs remain the property of Jack + Mo.
10. Refunds & Pricing
Because all custom work is created specifically for each client:
- Payments are non-refundable.
- Projects cannot be canceled once work has begun.
- Custom quotes are valid for 14 days.
- Pricing is subject to change until booked.
11. Portfolio & Confidentiality
Unless otherwise requested, completed projects may be featured in the Jack + Mo portfolio and social media.
If you prefer your project remain confidential, please let me know before work begins. An NDA can be provided or I am happy to review one you provide.
12. Custom Illustration
Standard logo packages do not include custom portraits or detailed illustrations of people, pets, animals, or fantasy creatures.
These projects are quoted separately and include one original concept.
13. Commissioned vs. Pre-Made Designs
Most Jack + Mo logos are one-of-a-kind commissioned artwork created exclusively for one client.
Pre-made logo designs are the exception and may be sold multiple times. Product listings will clearly indicate when this applies.
14. Holiday Schedule
Jack + Mo closes annually for:
- One week at Easter
- Independence Day weekend
- Thanksgiving weekend
- One week at Christmas
- New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
These closures may extend project timelines before and after holiday periods.
